Man Reportedly Arrives Drunk in Loganville Court

The man had arrived one morning at the city courthouse on a previous charge.

A man reportedly arrived drunk in court at the Loganville Police Department last month.

According to the police report, the 33-year-old man arrived at the city courthouse before 10 a.m. on a recent Thursday. Officers immediately smelled a strong odor of alcohol and knew he was intoxicated.

"When I asked [the man] to stand up, he was unable to stand on his own and required my assistance," wrote one of the officers in the report. "When he spoke to me, I noticed his speech was very slurred."

The man gave a voluntary sample into an alco sensor, and it came back positive with a 0.235 reading.

He was arrested and charged with public drunkenness. Since he was already there on a previous charge, he was ordered by the city judge to post a cash-only bond of $2,000. He was placed in a holding cell at the local department and then later driven to the Walton County Jail.
