Loganville Man Killed In Monroe Accident

Georgia State Patrol officials confirm the only fatality in the two-car wreck in Monroe on Friday was a 79-7ear-old man from Loganville.

A wreck on Highway 11 at the intersection of Highway 78 in Monroe just before noon on Friday claimed the life of 79-year-old Charlie Allen Moore of Loganville.

According to Capt. Paul Cosper of the Georgia State Patrol, the accident happened when Moore, driving a 1999 Pontiac Grand Prix, attempted to turn left onto Highway 11 after exiting from Highway 78. A box-type truck coming down Highway 11 ran into the driver's side of Moore's vehicle. Cosper said Moore was the at-fault driver for failing to yield.

Moore is the fourth Walton County resident to die in a traffic fatality this month. Sept. 11, Tracy Talley, 36, of Monroe died in an accident in Loganville, Sept. 12, Richard Lynn McKee, 24, of Loganville, died in a motorcycle wreck on Highway 138 in Newton County and that same afternoon, Loganville High School student Madison Young, 15, was killed in an ATV accident.
