Loganville Man Dies After His Truck Runs Off the Road

Although the vehicle ran off the road and hit a tree, officials believe it was a medical condition that was responsible for the death of a 42-year-old Loganville man on New Year's Eve.

Leyland Mark Bagot, 42, of Loganville, died after his Ford F-150 left the road while he was driving on Thompson Road a little before 10 a.m. Dec. 31, 2011. According to officials, the vehicle went through a fence and hit a tree, but Bagot did not receive injuries from the crash. It is believed that a medical condition was responsible for the accident and his death.

A spokesman with the Georgia State Patrol said this was not counted in the 12 fatalities reported statewide over the New Year's weekend.

Another Loganville resident, Kathy Porter, 54, wife of Braves trainer Jeff Porter, died in a collision with a Georgia State Patrol trooper in Atlanta later that same day.
