Inmate Overdoses While Jailed in Walton County

Woman is reported to have overdosed on pills she had hidden in her vagina.

According to The Walton Tribune, a woman jailed in the Walton County Detention Center has committed suicide with pills hidden her vagina at the time of her arrest. Yvonne Parker, 40, of 1422 Virginia Way, Monroe, was arrested Feb. 3 during a traffic stop and was charged of possession of roxicodone with intent to distribute and conspiracy to violate the Georgia Controlled Substance Act. The Walton Tribune reports she was also facing charges under the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organization Act. Parker is reported to have been arrested on her way back from Kentucky after making a delivery.

After initially being hospitalized for ingesting a large number of pills at the time of her arrest, Parker was transported to the Walton County jail for booking. Parker allegedly did not undergo a cavity search at that time. Authorities believe she later removed some of the pills hidden in her vagina and swallowed enough to result in her death. The remainder of the pills were found during an autopsy. The Georgia Bureau of Investigation is reportedly investigating the incident, which is initially being classified as a suicide.
