High Fire Danger Conditions Expected Today

Although Burn Ban was lifted Oct. 1, high fire danger weather warning continues for third day, preventing outdoor burning.

The National Weather Service has issued a hazardous weather outlook for Gwinnett, Walton and surrounding counties for a third day as dangerous fire conditions are expected this afternoon and evening.

Low relative humidities, low fuel moisture levels and gusty winds are expected to create a fire danger into the evening.

Although the burn ban ended Saturday, Oct. 1, outdoor banning is not allowed on days designated as high fire danger under most metro Atlanta county fire regulations. Consult local fire regulations before undertaking any burning under current conditions.
