Gun Found in Gwinnett County Jail Cell

The gun was found in a holding cell prior to it being introduced to the general jail population.

Gwinnett County Sheriff’'s deputies report finding a gun in a holding cell at the jail on Monday.

According to a press release, Andre Rose has been identified as the person responsible for bringing the firearm into the jail. Since it was also determined that the firearm had been stolen, authorities report that Rose and been charged with two felony counts of theft by receiving stolen property and crossing the guard line as well as a misdemeanor charge of carrying a deadly weapon.

Officials said the weapon was located before it was taken into the general jail population. The investigation into the incident remains ongoing at this time.
