Gwinnett Firefighters Battle a Fire at Taco Bell in Grayson

Extensive damage to the inside of the building but authorities report no injuries.

Gwinnett County Fire and Emergency Services responded to a report by a passing motorist at about 7:15 a.m. Wednesday of a fire at the .
 
According to a press release from Lt. Eric Eberly, public information officer for GCFES, crews arrived to find heavy smoke showing from the roof and sides of the one-story building. 

"Crews made immediate entry and encountered dense smoke conditions on the interior," Eberly said in the release. "Firefighters began a quick search for potential victims and deployed attack lines to combat the blaze. Crews quickly controlled a large fire in the ceiling of the business."
 
Eberly said the business was not open and nobody was at the business when emergency services arrived and no injuries were reported. At 8:30 a.m. crews were still on the scene performing overhaul operations. Eberly said although little damage is evident from the outside, the fire caused extensive damage to the inside of the business. The cause of the fire is currently undetermined and under investigation.

I heard all the emergency vehicles responding early this morning and saw them on my way to work still outside the Taco Bell. It's a brick structure, but if you look, you can see all the burnt wood inside. So glad no one was there.

Yes, that is lucky. I'll check back to see what they find as a cause of the fire.

I know for a fact they have had electrical problems there for the last 2 weeks. One being with their steamer--It blew a spark 2 foot long!
