UPDATE: GCPD Ask for Help in Identifying Pedestrian Fatality

Update: Victim Identified. Pictures are of tattoos on the victim that police hope will lead to his identification.

UPDATE:  (November 25, 2011 11:50PM): The pedestrian killed in this accident has been identified as Calvin Wilson, Jr, a 26 year old from Charlotte, NC.

The Gwinnett County Police Department is asking if anyone can help them identify a pedestrian killed in an accident involving a tractor-trailer on Interstate 85 in the early hours Friday morning. The accident happened near SR 317 (Lawrenceville-Suwanee Road).

At this time police do not believe alcohol or speed was a factor in the accident on behalf of the driver of the tractor trailer, but are not yet sure in the case of the pedestrian. He currently remains unidentified. Police describe him as a white male with short brown hair of average height and weight who looks to be about 30 years old. Police say he wasn't wearing a jacket and had almost nothing in his pockets.

The AIU officers believe he may have walked from somewhere nearby, possibly on Lawrenceville-Suwanee Road. Police have provided pictures showing tattoos on the victim that they hope will help identify him. The pictures do show some of the injuries he sustained in the accident, but police believe it is necessary to show the pictures in hopes of identifying the victim.

The first is from the inside of his left ankle, a Grateful Dead style design. The second is on his left forearm, an all black design. Not pictured is an additional large tattoo on the right side of his abdomen (rib area).
