Fugitive Arrested in Grayson on Charges of Grand Theft

Disbarred attorney James Crenshaw Kelley is wanted out of Miami Dade County in Florida.

Gwinnett County Sheriff's Office arrested disbarred Florida attorney James Crenshaw Kelley in Grayson on Aug. 14, 2013. 

Kelley is wanted out of Miami-Dade County on charges of grand theft, said GCSO spokesman Deputy Shannon Volkodav. According to the Florida case file, Kelley was in possession of a $124,000 check in trust from a client in 2010. He was accused of transferring $89,235 of the funds into his own account and was disbarred in 2012 as a result.

Kelley was arrested in the early morning hours on Wednesday at G1942 Flowerine Drive in Grayson. He is charged with being a fugitive from justice and is being held for two other agencies, Fannin County Sheriff's Office and Miami-Dade County in Florida. 

Kelly remains in the Gwinnett County Detention Center without bond.
