Update: Fatal Wreck on Sharon Church Road, Loganville
Bethlehem, Ga., woman killed after her vehicle strikes tree.
Lt. John Fain, of the Loganville Police Department, confirmed that Ann Marie Smith, aged 41, died on Friday after her vehicle struck a pine tree on Sharon Church Road.
The accident occured at 3:30 a.m. on Friday after failing to stop at a stop sign. She was not wearing a seat belt.
"It was a single vehicle accident," said Major Greg Warnack. The driver was transported to a hospital after the accident but despite their best efforts, she did not survive.

The accident is still under investigation.
Smith, a Bethlehem, Ga., resident, is the sixth person in Walton County to die as the result of an accident in September. Three of the fatalities have been Loganville residents.

79-year-old Charlie Allen Allen Moore passed away on Sept. 23 after an accident in Monroe. On Sept. 11, Tracy Talley, 36, of Monroe died in an accident in Loganville, followed by Richard Lynn McKee, 24, of Loganville, who died in a motorcycle wreck on Highway 138 in Newton County on Sept. 12. Loganville High School student Madison Young, 15, was killed in an ATV accident that same afternoon.
