Explosives Used to Blow up Mailbox: Walton County Sheriff's Office Alerts
The Walton County Sheriff's Office responded to the following calls Nov. 15-17.

Zone 3
Arrest – A subject was arrested on Whitney Rd. for an outstanding warrant.
Suspicious Activity – A wallet was found in the parking lot of Bethel Baptist Church.
Damage to Property – A fence and an outbuilding located at a residence on Clearwater Drive in Clearwater Estates was damaged by a vehicle. The driver left the scene and was later found and charged with leaving the scene of an accident.
Fraud – Unauthorized use of a credit card was reported on Pannell Rd.
Arson – A fire started at a residence on Nicole Court. Minor damages were reported.
Burglary – Items were reportedly taken from an unlocked barn on Whitney Rd.
Zone 4
Juvenile Runaway – A juvenile was reported as a runaway on Clearwater Drive in Clearwater Estates.
Zone 5
Theft – A red cruiser bicycle with a brown basket was taken from a residence on Grady Smith Rd.
Entering Auto – Gift cards were reportedly taken from a vehicle parked on Plantation Ridge Drive in Plantation Ridge subdivision. Extra patrol requested.
Zone 6
Arrest – A subject was arrested on Broadnax Drive in reference to an outstanding warrant out of Barrow County.
Damage to Property – An explosive device was used to blow up a mailbox on Broadnax Mill Rd. Criminal Investigations Division was notified.
Abandoned Vehicle – A Chevrolet S10 was towed from a location on Sandy Creek Rd. The vehicle was found on a jack with a flat tire on the bed.
Damage to Property – A vehicle caused damage to two areas on a fence on Pointer Rd. near Johnson Spur. The vehicle crashed into one area of the fence and exited another area.
Damage to Property – Two mailboxes were damaged on Meadow Trail. Pumpkins were smashed at a residence in the same area.
Zone 7
Entering Auto – A book bag and a wallet were taken from a residence on Arnold Dairy Farm Rd.
Theft – Gasoline was taken from several vehicles at a business on Hwy 81. Five gallons were taken out of each vehicle.
