Escaped Prisoner Busted After He Was Caught Littering

Robert Lagos, of Loganville, Ga., was re-arrested after he was seen throwing a cigarette out of the car window.

A Loganville man who had escaped from the was located during a traffic stop after he was seen littering.

According to an incident report from the WCSO, a car that Robert Lagos, of Loganville,  was traveling in was stopped after Lagos was seen throwing a cigarette out of the car window. A Sheriff’s deputy pulled the car over in the location of Nancy Way and Etchison Road in Monroe. The driver was found to be in the clear and let go, but it turned out that there was an outstanding warrant for Lagos from Walton County for escape. He also had a knife on his person as well as several pill. He was charged with a violation of the Georgia Controlled Substance act (for hydrocodone), drugs not in the original container and for the outstanding warrant from WCSO for escape. He was also was given a written warning for littering.

It is not clear at this time what Lagos was in jail for initially or the details of his espace. A spokesperson for the WCSO said Friday that the District Attorney’s office is handling the escape charge.
