Early Morning Fire in Loganville Ruled Arson

Reward offered for information that leads to an arrest and successful conviction in the case.

An early morning fire in Loganville has been ruled arson. Gwinnett County Fire Investigators are asking for help in the investigation.

According to a press release from Lt. Colin S. Rhoden, public information officer for Gwinnett County Fire and Emergency Services, firefighters responded to a residential fire at about 4 a.m. on June 19. The address, in the 3700 block of Red Rose Court in Loganville, is in the unincorporated area of Gwinnett County.

The caller had reported that a vacant house at the location had heavy smoke and flames showing from all sides of the roof. Rhoden said crews arrived to find the split level house fully engulfed in flames. Power crews were able to secure the electricity cable before the house collapsed. Firefighters were able to protect most of the surrounding homes, but the exterior wall of one vacant home was reportedly damaged by radiant heat prior to their arrival. There were no injuries reported.

Rhoden said it was learned that the house was in foreclosure and that there had been other recent fire calls to the same address. Investigators determined that the fire was the result of arson.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Gwinnett Fire Arson and Explosives Investigation Section at 678-518-4890 or the Georgia Arson Control Hotline at 1-800-282-5804. Georgia Arson Control, Inc. offers a reward of UP TO $10,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person(s) responsible for arson.

Another house burnt down last week, in the same neighborhood, right up the street from our house. Range Heights is becoming a little unsafe feeling.

I didn't hear about that one. Do you have an address and I will check to see if they know the cause of that one or whether it is also under investigation as another possible arson case.

Yes, the address for the second home is 2472 Range heights terrace. The backyards of both of these homes that burnt down, are almost inline with one another.
