Driver Pleads Not Guilty in Fatal Accident on Center Hill Church Road

Rollover crash injured three people and killed a Monroe teen.

 A Loganville woman entered a not guilty plea Thursday in connection with a fatal accident on Aug. 1, 2011 that took the life of a 14-year old, according to The Walton Tribune. Kim Johnson, 49, of 4221 Bypass Road, Loganville is reported to have entered a not guilty plea on three counts of first degree homicide by vehicle and one count of second degree homicide by vehicle in connection with the case.

At the time, Lt. Paul Cosper of the Georgia State Patrol reported that the crash occured on Center Hill Church Road, just east of McCullers Road a little after 6 p.m. the evening of Aug. 1. Johnson lost control of the 2000 Mercury Mountaineer she was driving on the curve as she was heading westbound on Center Hill Church Road. According to witnesses at the time, the vehicle left the roadway and flipped several times before coming to rest on it's wheels. Johnson's husband, Samuel Johnson, the couple's 14-year-old son, Zackery Johnson, and a friend, Zachary Paul Littlefield, 14, of Monroe, were in the car. 

"Zachary Littlefield was deceased at the scene," Cosper said.

According to officials, one adult was life flighted to a trauma center, while the driver was taken by ambulance. The other child in the vehicle sustained minor injuries. Cosper said all were wearing seat belts.
