Please wear your seat belts kids. It truly can mean the difference between living or dying!
Patti Tyson July 02, 2012 at 06:17 PM
I am all for wearing seat belts but by looking at the vehicle that the girls were in, I really do not think it would have saved her life. This scumbag who was in our country ILLEGALLY is now a MURDERER! Sadly, the Sailors family with live with this tragedy for the rest of their lives and I'm sure Mr. Paasewe won't give it a second thought. I am praying for peace for Brittany's family.

Patti, I don't believe he has been charges as the at fault driver in the accident. He does appear to be here illegally, according to jail records, and he was charged with driving under the influence. However, at this point at least, he is not facing charges for being the at-fault driver in the accident. There was a similar incident with the fatal car accident in Grayson a few months ago. Someone who ended being involved in the accident was charged with DUI, but was not considered the person who caused the accident.

WOW and this fine man WAS eligible for an “Obama Work Permit”!! IF we had enforced our borders - this WOULDN’T have occurred. based on simple physics.

Patti, I've known the guy who got the DUI for a very long time. He is a Grayson graduate (class of 2006) and went by the name Claude. He really has a good heart from everything I knew of him from high school and this seems bound near impossible that he would do such a thing, of course I know a lot of people who have driven after drinking and thinking they were ok to drive. I am sure this isn't something that he won't give a second thought about, he really does have a good heart and I am sure he will forever feel guilt for. I can't imagine him actually being illegal immigrant either. He grew up in the Grayson school system. Just saying, I know anger is the first emotion to feel in a situation like this, but before you go and assume that Mr. Passawe is a bad person who won't care what he did, take a second to remember that we all make mistakes. And some mistakes are always going to be worse than others. Just a thought.

Patti, claude happens to be one of my very good friends and he is definetly not a scumbag, neither is he in this country illegaly. He has been here since he was five years old. Yes it is very unfortunate what happened to the young girl and i know for a fact that his heart is heavy about it. You are just reading the facts, she is a young caucasian and he is a black guy... dont be so quick to pass judgement.

Wow, you choose to bring politics into something like this. Let's be honest. He was here long before Obama was president and would still be here regardless who was President.

Thoughts and prayers go out to the Sailors family. All of this probably had more to do with being a young inexperienced and maybe a distracted driver than it did with the DUI driver. If their car did indeed pull out in front of the DUI driver, whether he was going 35 or 55, he had no where to go. It can all happen so quickly. Horrible story..

@Marie So was MADD and they still press forward. As long as people sit back, this family's senseless pain has been and WILL be repeated FAR too many times. One of the vehicles NEVER should have been there at ALL.

Yes by all means lets breeze right past the simple fact he SHOULDN'T have been behind the wheel to even BE there... In how many ways is this wrong now? The state already had a crack and he’s back for more? The last case should be pulled and those involved sanctioned to some degree but we know that can't happen either, not under CURRENT law anyway.

According to jail records, Paasewe has been released. If he has been released on bail, it is an indication he is no longer being held for immigration. I have the Gwinnett County Sheriff's Dept. looking into whether the original charge was an error. I will update as soon as I know.

Just to correct the record: A permanent resident is someone that is here legally with all rights and benefits. The only difference is a permanent resident is not a citizen. He had a green card meaning he entered this country legally and resides here legally. Only God knows why this happened. We will continue to pray for the family of the bereaved and for all involved in the accident. May God heal those that were injured and may his grace abound in this situation. Life is a lesson we live. Wisdom is to accept Gods perfect gift of Jesus and make the right choices to llive in harmony with each other.

Yes indeed it is...Angel passed and Hope as well. Knew both of them. so sad Praying for the Sailors family.
GeorgiaRed July 07, 2012 at 01:56 AM
I thought this was all about the family. Not about us aor any one else. Do you guys really think the family want to hear all this? It was all God thimk about it. Angel was the only one. I belive God could have saved her if he had choose to. I guy was wrong for drinking and driving. But she pulled out in front of him. would have been the same if he had not been drinking. It still would have happen. Go head blame the president, blame the guy. Why? because you don't won't to blame God the man that control it all. It was her time to go and it is very sad the way she had to die. Lets all pray for our teens and their safe travel. I have a son that is 15 I understand the family pain. I am praying for her family that they will find peace and understanding in what God has plan for us!!!

Chelsea, you are absolutely correct about the crash being based on a variety of physical circumstance. First and foremost, had the illegal criminal not been here in the first place, it would never have happened. Enough Said! Take off your blinders sweetie. Your claim to Loganville doesn't make all of look racist and ignorant but it does make you seem a bit lite upstairs.
