'Awkward' Moment Leads to Thrown Soda Bottle and Broken Fish Tank

A perceived “awkward” moment at dinner started a rampage by a Loganville man who had to be subdued by an officer with pepper spray.

According to the Gwinnett Police incident report dated Feb. 25, the man’s wife called police to say he “went crazy” and tore up the house. He was reportedly intoxicated.

The man reportedly had been drinking before the couple had dinner at the Loganville Chili’s. The man continued drinking there and later became confrontational with his wife because she made things “awkward” at dinner. No specifics were mentioned in the report.

He allegedly became angry at home, throwing ground beef around the kitchen and a soda bottle, which nearly hit his wife before breaking a fish tank.

According to the incident report, the man left the house and was located later in the woods behind the house. He continued to walk away from officers, saying, “I just want you to shoot me.” A Gwinnett Sheriff’s deputy, who arrived the scene earlier, then used the pepper spray.
