Armed Robbery Suspects Arrested, Another Still On the Loose

There were two armed robberies in the local area last month. Two suspects in the robbery at the Marathon in Jersey have been arrested, but the suspect in the case of the Loganville Partyland has not been identified.

In December, two armed robberies in quick succession occurred in the local area.Β  One was at a and the other occurred two days later at . Officials said there was no connection between the two and two teens have now been arrested in connection with the armed robbery at the Marathon gas station in Jersey.

In that case, when the robber - with an accomplice - went back for a second shot at the Marathon on Dec. 28, it didn’t work out quite so well. The second time around the store clerk was able to get a better description of the subject, as well as the vehicle he left in, reporting that he was dressed all in black. Officials from the reported that a short while later Social Circle police stopped the vehicle and were able to identify the occupants as the couple who had robbed the Marathon gas station a short time earlier. The suspects, two 18-year-olds from Newton County, confessed to the robbery as well as the earlier one at the same location.

The person who robbed Partyland in , however, has still not been identified.

In the case of the Marathon gas station robberies, Buddy Eugene Davy, 18, of Covington, and Lesley Lynn Martin, 18, of Oxford, were arrested on Dec. 28, 2011 and remain in the Walton County Jail without bond. Davy is charged with two counts of armed robbery and two counts of aggregated assault and Martin is charged with two counts of party to a crime and armed robbery.

In the Partyland robbery, police are still looking for a light-skinned black male, about 5 feet 9 to 5 feet 10, of medium build and at the time of the robbery he had a goatee and moustache. Anyone with information is asked to call Wes Massey of the at 770-466-8087 ext. 211.
