What Petition Would You Like to File with the Obama White House?

On the official website of the White House is a facility opening a petition on any issue that you feel needs addressing. What would you like to petition the U.S. Government to do?

The Obama White House offers citizens the opportunity to file a petition on its official website. Several people have already opened petitions asking other people to join them in asking for a variety of issues to be considered by the administration. Included in those petitions gaining popularity are a couple relating to Japan’s territorial issues.

Closer to home, are a couple of petitions asking for mandatory labeling of genetically engineered food as well as a petition to prevent the FDA to regulate premium cigars. At last count, more than 30,500 people had digitally signed that petition. There also was a petition, garnering a little slower support, requesting that the state of Louisiana be allowed to peacefully withdraw from the United States of America and create its own new government.

What petition would you like filed with the Obama Administration?

Mr. B, the President had to get us out of the deeper-than-anyone-thought financial hole. And is still paying for the GWB wars. The debt figure includes interest on past debt. In other words, he's (we're) paying Republican invoices along with current and ongoing needs. What was Bush's excuse for debt increase? Right, tax cuts unpaid for - had to spend the surplus Clinton left, 2 wars unpaid for, Medicare Part D unpaid for. The answer to your question is, he's not going to resign. Here's a link that all the dooms-day, apocalyptic gloomy gusses should read (be sure to look at all the graphs), unless they just enjoy their dark funk, in which case, nevermind : http://www.policymic.com/articles/9069/has-obama-spent-more-than-any-other-u-s-president-in-history-yes-and-no
Mr. B November 13, 2012 at 06:56 PM
I certainly don't deny Bush spent too much. He seemed to have forgotten he had the power of the veto. BUt Obama spent more in one year than Bush did in all eight of his. But the question was concerning my congressional representatives. They are the ones I suggest resign. I have a suggestion for Obama too but that wasn't the question.
Mr. B November 13, 2012 at 06:59 PM
There's a difference between deleted and not allowed to post. Maybe the bickering has gotten to them. Or maybe they are "experienced journalists and know better than you (meaning conservative me) what Americans need to read."
Good Grief Y'all November 13, 2012 at 08:09 PM
Sorry, Mr. B. Guess I was on the wrong page. But they ain't gonna resign unless there's a scandal. No doubt there's too much waste and mis-spending. The Obama spending in the first couple of years was largely b/c of the Bush debt and interest on that debt, and the fiscal grand canyon. Hope you looked at the charts and saw what I did - the percentages have gone down. You can't just look at the numbers, you have to look at the trend.
Good Grief Y'all November 13, 2012 at 08:12 PM
Huh. Can't say I haven't been allowed to post, but my posts more often than not have "Pending Approval" status. Maybe we're both on the s list ;)
GregRodgers November 13, 2012 at 09:40 PM
Maybe its me Mr B...but I do not see the hateful rhetoric in this post....
GregRodgers November 13, 2012 at 09:42 PM
Oh brother....will you Fox News watchers ever get over it!!....There is an ongoing investigation as I type....get over it. Bengahzi was used for political gain in the election...as you see it did not work because most SANE people realize that there is alot more to this story than whatever Fox News says.....Good Grief Y'all !!!!!
GregRodgers November 13, 2012 at 09:48 PM
I would simply ask Obama to work harder on compromising with the Republicans and I'd ask Boehner to do the same with the Dems. I'd ask these elected officials to stop the bickering and work for us! This is not a country club we've sent these men and women to have cocktails.
Sharon Swanepoel November 13, 2012 at 09:59 PM
I don't know Greg, based on all the very recent scandals out of the FBI, CIA, Secret Service etc, there appears to be some sort of club going on up there, I'm just not sure that country club really covers it.

"The Obama spending in the first couple of years was largely b/c of the Bush debt and interest on that debt" So how will you SPIN it for Obama while he spends another $6,000,000,000,000 during his second Rule? Get your shovels out again folks.
Good Grief Y'all November 14, 2012 at 12:26 AM
Well, Aaron, I think you're the one spinning. Ending the wars that he didn't start will make a sizable reduction in spending. I'm not worried about it, and I doubt you are. You're just spinning your disappointment.
Mr. B November 14, 2012 at 12:26 AM
I consider it a form of purgatory to get the Pending Approval status. Unfortunately, I rarely get beyond it to the posted stage.
Mr. B November 14, 2012 at 12:30 AM
Who did start those wars? Oh, I remember! It was those extremist muslims that we taught to fly in our flight schools.

Someone in Athens-Clarke County can start a petition to get "Dr." Paul Broun to resign from the US House of Representatives Science, Space and Technology Committee. And, then from Congress while he's at it. How can a doctor not believe in science? He was unopposed, but Charles Darwin had 4000 write-in votes. That's hilarious, but bad for science and bad for Georgia's image. "In a September 27 speech, Paul Broun, a physician and member of the U.S. House of Representatives Science, Space and Technology Committee, called evolution and the Big Bang Theory, "lies straight from the pit of hell." http://www.reuters.com/article/2012/11/09/us-usa-campaign-georgia-idUSBRE8A813W20121109

Good grief Sharon, If you want some advice on how "handle" the P I A's (Pain In the A..'s) here, contact Brian Arrington at the Walton Ladies Home Jourinal. He is an expert in stifling the opposition. There are a total of 13 comments on the entire front page today. Ain't that a HOOT ?

Mr. B, you know the Iraqis didn't start a war, nor ask for their country to be destroyed, which we now must, and should, rebuild - more spending that President Obama will be blamed for. OBL and Al Queda members were from Saudi Arabia, hanging out in Afghanistan. Would we still be there with troops if there were no Iraqi invasion, if the focus had stayed on OBL in Afghanistan with our might and treasures? Would 9/11 have happened if the Bush Admin. hadn't ignored intelligence reports of the impending attack by airplane - a pretty big clue right there - to stop it? What's that you say? That's what I thought.
SUNKEN SUB November 14, 2012 at 12:48 AM
@waving_girl. "As far as Texas and Louisiana leaving the US, I guess they don't like the highway systems" Well after all @waving_girl., They Didn't Build It now did they ?
Sharon Swanepoel November 14, 2012 at 01:03 AM
Please remember not to call your fellow posters names. Those fall under the label "personal attacks," and are in violation of our terms.
Mr. B November 14, 2012 at 01:09 AM
9/11 wouldn't have happened if Bill Clinton had the cajones to kill OBL when he had him cornered either.
Mr. B November 14, 2012 at 03:40 AM
When you can't face the truth because you would have to admit how wrong you are, the only out is to blame someone else.

A petition for Obama? Sure I do. I would like to know since when do the American, Tax Paying Citizens take a back seat to some Spindly, Inexperienced, Chicago Corrupt, Reverend Wright Denying, Bone Headed Community Organizer elected AND sworn to protect Americans and the Constitution? Answer? - 2008 Since when is the American public supposed to shut up and turn a blind eye EVERY TIME a scandal arises under the Obama Administration? Obama has failed to follow through with promises of transparency. In other words, HE LIED! Obama promised that Joe Biden would not only keep a close eye on the Stimulus funding but Obama promised that the stimulus spending would be online for the world to see. What Happened? Did the Webmaster Czar fail Obama? It is sad enough that the American electorate is immature, ignorant, careless and stupid enough to elect Obama for President but it’s horrific to imagine that these fools actually believe that our Nation is better under Obama’s Rule and that America can sustain such a disaster for eight years. This nation is destined to fail and for some reason the Obama stooges are loving every minute of it. These are Occuturds and parents of said scum-baggery. HEY! We have FREE HEALTHCARE! IT’s FREE! We All Need More FREE Stuff.
Good Grief Y'all November 14, 2012 at 12:27 PM
You and Sarah Palin need to come to terms with the fact that the community organizer organized himself to get re-elected. That "inexperienced" claim didn't fit the first time and certainly not the second. Four years as president makes him four years experienced as president. The rest of your rant is just that. Some people need help to wean themselves from their anger.
Good Grief Y'all November 14, 2012 at 12:38 PM
Some interesting reading: " . . . in early 1996, American officials regarded Osama bin Laden as a financier of terrorism and not as a mastermind largely because, at the time, there was no real evidence that bin Laden had harmed American citizens. So even if the Sudanese government really did offer to hand bin Laden over, the U.S. would have had no grounds for detaining him. In fact, the Justice Department did not secure an indictment against bin Laden until 1998 – at which point Clinton did order a cruise missile attack on an al Qaeda camp in an attempt to kill bin Laden. http://www.factcheck.org/2008/01/clinton-passed-on-killing-bin-laden/

Four years as president certainly improved his golf game.
Good Grief Y'all November 14, 2012 at 02:48 PM
How about George's game? I don't know b/c I was never a fan of his. And his wood chopping and land clearing and other stuff he did in his numerous escapes from D.C. I personally believe everyone deserves time away from the job, but the POTUS never truly has time away from the headaches and responsibilities. How many CEOs conduct business on the golf course? Not Mitt, though, too stiff. Doesn't mean he wouldn't have sound some other way to be away from D.C. if elected, like he did as Gov of Mass. Didn't he miss well over a full year away from that job?
