7-Time Tour de France Winner Stripped of His Titles - Fair or Not?

Do you agree with the USADA's decision to strip seven-time Tour de France winner Lance Armstrong of his titles and institute a lifetime ban on future competitions?

Seven-time Tour de France winner Lance Armstrong has fought years of accusations of doping, but he has finally given up the fight.

According to Reuters, on Friday the United States Anti-Doping Agency handed down a lifetime ban on Armstrong and stripped him of all his wins. Although the USADA has ruled, should the International Cycling Union challenge the ruling it is up to a Court of Arbitration for Sports in Lausanne, Switzerland, to make the final decision.

Fellow competitors have leveled accusations of doping at Armstrong over the years, however he has never tested positive. Still, he said he was tired of fighting the accusations and was moving on, leaving it in the hands of the USADA. His decision to give up the fight prompted Friday's decision.

Do you think the International Cycling Union should challenge the USADA’s ban? Do you believe the seven-time Tour de France champion should lose his titles and be banned from future competiton for life?

He is the greatest. No one can take it away from him.He is human so why try to prove it again and again

No. He earned the titles, doping or no doping no one could touch what he accomplished. In a sport where it is widely accepted that doping was the price of admission, it was an even playing field. The sport should move on to a cleaner future but leave the legacy of its greats intact.

Does USADA have the authority to strip the titles? I thought it was up to UCI to make that decision..

Is he guilty of doping? I wish we knew. I hope he won every title fair and square. So sad to think he could lose everything he gained.

He got tired of fighting authorities so that makes him guilty? He never tested positive! It appears science says he's not guilty but apparently that's not good enough. Debra

I guess with everything else going on in the world I would have to say "WHO CARES" he certainly isn't the only athlete out there "enhancing his performance". He isn't hurting anyone but himself -IF he is

He deserves the titles.

He's never been proven guilty and yet they take his titles away. It doesn't pay to be great.

Umm, apparently you all haven't been keeping up with Lance as much as you are supporting him. He has tested positive. His 1999 blood sample found small traces of a banned substance and in 2005, his blood sample from 1999 was retested and found to contain EPO. I find it hard to believe that a man of his stature is willing to walk away from allegations that are false, lose all his titles and prize money because he's tired of fighting the charges. Have you ever seen an innocent man in jail stop fighting. Do you really think if my candidate Herman Cain was truly innocent, he would have stopped his presidential campaign?? Something to think about.

Lance was/is the most tested athlete in the world - he earned them. I am so glad our Federal government had nothing better to do than to chase down innuendos concerning an athlete who participated in a race in France.

Juice or not the next man in line is in for it now...If you're gonna compete with the big dogs you're not gonna be eating puppy chow!

The man has never proven positive for drugs in all his testing. I think the USADA is trying to make a statement of "If we can't get you one way, we will get you another!" Relying on hear say from team mates[?] because they have been cought is no way to run a testing facility. Presure from the French is another thing.....Sore loosers, the whole country is MY opinion.
