Geneva Everett Cooper, 92, of Grayson

Obituary: She was a long-time member of Grayson United Methodist and loved to cook and bake, with many people fighting over her cakes and pies.

Geneva Everett Cooper, age 92, of Grayson, passed away Thursday (Dec. 5).

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Bruce and Mary Cooper of Grayson; daughter, Carolyn Bird of Loganville; granddaughters, Samantha and Eugenio Maqueo, Jennifer and Brian Lipham all of Cumming; Kathy and Thomas Still and Tammy Bird, all of Loganville; grandsons, Joseph and Debi Hall of Bethlehem, and Tim Hartman of Grayson; 5 great granddaughters and 3 great grandsons; numerous nieces; nephews; cousins; and extended family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Howard Cooper.

Geneva was the daughter of Lon Everett and Janie Rooks Everett and was born 
and raised in Dacula. She met her husband Howard and they were married and 
had two children.

Howard passed away in 1964 and Geneva raised their children and remained a widow the rest of her life. She was a member of Grayson United Methodist Church for over 55 years and had become a member of Chestnut Grove 
Baptist Church in recent years. She worked for Genesco in Lawrenceville for 20 
years and worked for Walton Clothes for 15 years. Geneva was an avid cook and 
baker, and everyone fought over her cakes and pies. She was known for being one of the sweetest ladies in Grayson. Geneva was the last surviving of 12 siblings. 

A Funeral Service to Honor and Celebrate the Life of Geneva Cooper will be at 2 p.m. Saturday (Dec. 7) at Chestnut Grove Baptist Church. Geneva will lie instate from 1:30 pm until the service. Rev. Thomas L. Jordan and Rev. L.T. Everett will officiate. Interment will follow in the Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Friday from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm at the funeral home. Flowers are accepted or memorials may be made in her memory to Chestnut Grove Baptist Church. Condolences may be sent or viewed at www.wagesfuneralhome.com Arrangements have been entrusted to Tom M.
