Former Loganville City Councilman Dies

Joe "Max" Allgood, a longtime Loganville resident and former Loganville City Councilman, passed away on Sunday.

Funeral services have been announced for Joe "Max" Allgood, of Loganville, who passed away on Sunday, July 1, 2012. Allgood served four consecutive terms on the Loganville City Council - from 1978 to 1985.

January 12th, 1931 - July 1st, 2012

Joe “Max” Allgood, age 81 of Loganville, passed away Sunday, June 1, 2012. Funeral Service will be held 2:00 p.m., Sunday, July 8, 2012 in the with Rev. Jimmy Wilson and Rev. Rick Bene officiating. Burial will follow at Corinth Memorial Gardens in Loganville. Retired from the United States Air Force, Security Service with the Rank of Senior Master Sergeant and a member of , Mr. Allgood served mutli-terms as Councilman for the City of Loganville and was a member of the Fergus Masonic Lodge # 135 F&AM. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ola Beth Allgood, parents, Josiah & Frances Allgood, 3 grandchildren, Jason Dale Chadwick, Adam Allgood, Bradley Allgood and brother, John N. Allgood. Mr. Allgood is survived by his Children: Keith & Donna Allgood of Lawrenceville; Bruce & Wanda Allgood of Loganville. Grandchildren: Jason Allgood of Kennesaw; Stephanie Allgood, Ellijay; Great Grandson: Wesley Chadwick of Ellijay; Aunts, Doris McCarty, Dorothy Van Lear, Uncle: Gene Needham; Beloved Dog: Gracie; Many Cousins and other relatives.
