Road Closures: Where the Trouble Spots May Be

Weekly report on road closures this week that are most likely to impact Loganville and Grayson commuters.

These roadways may be affected by construction this week, according to the Gwinnett County website.

Alcovy Road at Sugarloaf Parkway will be closed to through traffic beginning June 11 for three weeks for roadway work, weather permitting. The detour will be Alcovy Road to West Campbell Road/Campbell Road to Brooks Road to Ewing Chapel Road to Alcovy Road, and the reverse.

Alcovy Road from Campbell Road to West Drowning Creek Road will require intermittent lane closures through December 2012 for roadway improvements associated with Sugarloaf Parkway extension, weather permitting. Any such closures will be between the hours of 9:00am and 4:00pm.

Bramlett Shoals Road from Brooks Road to Bramlett Shoals Road Connector will require intermittent lane closures through July roadway improvements associated with Sugarloaf Parkway extension, weather permitting. Any such closures will be between the hours of 9:00am and 4:00pm.

Campbell Road West from Campbell Road to Alcovy Road will require intermittent lane closures through July for roadway improvements associated with Sugarloaf Parkway extension, weather permitting. Any such closures will be between the hours of 9:00am and 4:00pm.

Grayson New Hope Road at Chandler Road will require intermittent lane closures through September for intersection improvements, weather permitting. Any such closures will be between the hours of 9:00am and 4:00pm.

Highpoint Road 500 feet north of Aspen Circle will close on May 23 through June 30 for culvert replacement.  The detour route will be Highpoint Road to Oak Road to Hewatt Road to Bruckner Boulevard to Highpoint Road and the reverse.  For further information contact the Department of Water Resources at 678.376.6926.

Hillside Drive 200 feet east of Lakeview Road will close on May 29 through June 25 for culvert replacement.  The detour route will be Hillside Drive to Grayson Highway/SR 20 to Webb Gin House Road to Scenic Highway to Pharr Road to Hillside Drive and the reverse. New Hope Road from Country Acres Lane to Ivy Lea Drive SE will require intermittent lane closures, and traffic shifts through July for roadway improvements and intersection alignments, weather permitting. Any such closures will be between the hours of 9:00am and 4:00pm.

New Hope Road from Tribble Mill Parkway to Callie Still Road will require intermittent lane closures through June for pedestrian improvements, weather permitting. Any such closures will be between the hours of 9:00am and 4:00pm.

SR 316/University Parkway from Winder Highway to Harbins Road will require intermittent lane closures through December 2012 for roadway improvements associated with Sugarloaf Parkway extension, weather permitting. Any such closures will be between the hours of 9:00am and 4:00pm.

SR 316/University Parkway from Boggs Road to Sugarloaf Parkway will require intermittent single lane closures and pacing through September for roadway widening and improvements, weather permitting. The daytime single lane closues and pacing will be between 10:00am to 3:00pm, Monday through Friday. Nightime single lane closures will be from 9:00pm to 5:00am, seven days a week.

Temple Johnson Road 500 feet north of Windlake Drive will close on May 29 through June 25 for culvert replacement.  The detour route will be Temple Johnson Road to Pate Road to Lenora Church Road to Temple Johnson Road and the reverse.  For further information contact the Department of Water Resources at 678.376.6983.

Temple Johnson Road from Skyland Drive to Preserve Creek Way will require intermittent lane closures through July for roadway improvements, weather permitting. Any such closures will be between the hours of 9:00am and 4:00pm.
