Making a difference

The Grayson Cluster Schools Foundation is making a difference in the education of over 8,000 Grayson area students.

Founded in 2000 by John Campbell who was then Principal of McConnell Middle School, the Grayson Cluster Schools Foundation was developed to build an endowment which would provide grants to local teachers and provide more educational resources in the classroom.   In early 2013, the Grayson Cluster Schools Foundation, a 501c-3 non-profit, re-launched in order to revive community involvement in the Grayson Cluster school system

The mission of the organization is to partner with the Grayson community to provide resources from businesses, parents and citizens to enhance academics for students and teachers within the Grayson Cluster.  These resources focus on activities which extend and enhance the education opportunities for Grayson Cluster student and are available to the seven schools within the Grayson Cluster: Grayson Elementary, Trip Elementary, Starling Elementary, Pharr Elementary, Couch Middle, Bay Creek Middle and Grayson High School.

In May 2013, the Grayson Cluster Schools Foundation funded 10 teachers, across all our schools with almost $5000 grants.   All 7 schools in the Grayson Cluster received at least one grant.  Plans are currently forming for future rounds of grants for teachers, a casino-night fundraiser and participation in a variety of community events – you will be seeing us all over town!

Interested in getting involved?   We are looking for supporters and sponsors from the community to support the Grayson Cluster schools.  We are also seeking volunteers from community groups, congregations, schools and neighborhoods - we hope to find people who are interested in sharing their time and talents to help us further exposure and mission of the Grayson Cluster Schools Foundation.
