Honoring the Service and Sacrifice of Maj. Walter David Gray

The family of Loganville High School graduate Maj. David Gray, KIA in Afghanistan on Aug. 8, will be in town for his Loganville Memorial on Tuesday. The community is reminded to line the streets in a show of support.

The Loganville and surrounding community is asked by line the streets at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 21, to honor the sacrifice of 1992 graduate The airman was killed in action in Afghanistan on Aug. 8. His funeral was on Aug. 17 at his home base in Colorado and a memorial service will be conducted at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 21, at the on Tom Brewer Road. His family, including his wife and three children, will be in for the service and will drive down Highway 78 to the church. Gray will finally be laid to rest on Aug. 24 at Arlington National Cemetery.

Further information will be published on Patch regarding final arrangements for the Memorial Service for the fallen airman on Tuesday. Information will also be made availabe on a trust fund that is being set up by his classmates from LHS for Gray's three children.
