Family Reunites With Dog 2 Weeks After Escaping Day Care

Blue Jeans was reunited with his family after he left The Dog Spot day care and boarding facility in Loganville in September.

A dog has been reunited with his family after escaping two weeks before from a doggy day care center.

According to Patch Board posts by Emily Goldstein, who posts on Loganville-Grayson Patch about many lost and found pets, Blue Jeans was found Monday (Oct. 7). Goldstein, who was with the dog at the vet, wrote that he was in bad shape.

The doctor believes Blue Jeans was hit by a car two weeks ago, resulting in injuries including his pelvis being broken in three places. He also was very thin, dehydrated and could barely walk.

He was released from the vet two days later, but the next 8 weeks are going to be a long road for him, Goldstein said.

But, she added, "He is home officially right now with his loving family."

Blue Jeans had been staying at the The Dog Spot day care and boarding facility off Diversified Drive in Loganville when he went missing Sept. 20. In the next week, he was spotted in the Gwinnett Estates Mobile Home Park off Langley Road, near the American Tavern restaurant off Highway 78 and in the Ivy Forks subdivision at corner of Rosebud Road and Knight Road.

At least three hundred flyers were posted on mailboxes, and Goldstein's four Patch posts on the dog received hundreds of Facebook shares to spread the word on finding the white pup with black spots. A $500 reward was first offered, but after a few days, the reward jumped to $1,000.

"Dozens of people were looking for him," Goldstein told Patch.

Goldstein couldn't go into specifics on how Blue Jeans was discovered, but many users expressed their relief and joy when the news broke.

"I'm so glad that he was found and is getting the needed medical attention he needs. So many animals sadly are not reunited after they go missing. Best wishes to Blue Jeans for a speedy recovery."

"I am so relieved for Blue Jeans & his family. Best wishes for a speedy recovery! Prayers will continue"

"What a journey. Thanks for all you do."
