Mega Millions Jackpot Reaches $400M

Friday's drawing becomes the second largest jackpot in the history of the multi-state game.

After no one won the Mega Millions drawing on Tuesday, the jackpot for Friday surged to an estimated $400 million, the second-largest jackpot in the game’s history.

If one ticket hits all six numbers, the winner will have the choice of being paid in 30 annual payments, or taking about $216.4 million before takes in a one-time cash payout.

The jackpot, which began rolling Oct. 4, has rolled 20 times. The odds of winning the jackpot are one in 259 million.  

Georgians have won lots of great prizes, including two winning tickets worth $5,000 that were sold in Norcross from the Dec. 10 drawing, according to a Georgia Lottery news release. Another two winning tickets worth $5,000 were sold in Pelham and Lawrenceville.

One lucky Georgia Lottery player won a $10,000 prize. The winning ticket was purchased in Gainesville.
