UPDATE on the Tim Hunter Fundraiser

Updates on the information for fundraiser in memory of Tim Hunter.

It has been 3 weeks since Craig Shapiro and Tracy Glover launched the Tim Hunter Fundraiser scheduled for Saturday February 23rd at the Hail Mary Pub in Grayson.  

"We have been working many hours pushing forward on making this a succesful event, keeping our commitment to the Hunter Family," according to Shapiro.  Organizers have committed themselves several hours a week to the corespondence, beating the path for donations and keeping the communited updated on the progress of the fundraiser.  "Those accomplishments help us pursue our drive."  


Blake Hawkins, owner of the Hail Mary Sports Pub,  has brought a great deal of expertise to the efforts. Hawkwns, who has coordinate many non-profit functions in the past has provided a the well-needed guidance and support to this team. "We are excited for our February 23rd Fundraiser," said Hawkins.

According to Shapiro, "the fundraiser is moving agressively." Cash donations have reached $1,225.00 and there are already 10 teams signed up for the Cornhole Tournament. Silent auction items range from local Restaurant Gift Cards, Vacation at Crimson Bear Mountain, Photography, Home Design Consulting, Auto Mechanic, Roller Skating, Music Recording & Lesson, Clothing, Jewelery, Hawks Basketball Tickets, and Autograph Memorabilia - ranging from sports, music and celebrities.

There are lots of other silent auction items in the works and the organizers are still seeking support and conributions from the community. They hope to have 35 teams in the Cornhole Tournament with prizes for the top 4 finishers.

According to Shapiro, Tim was excited about about a plan to organize a fundraiser for Cancer when he was first diagnosed. "With Tim's boundless enthusiasm, his encouragement and his larger than life personality, he would want this event to be triumphant! Let's make him proud by making this event a success!
