Worship Evening to Celebrate God's Heart for the Fatherless

Graystone Church will host a Worship Evening to celebrate God’s heart for the fatherless.

Come and learn more about adoption, foster care, and global orphan initiatives and how you can get involved.

Don’t know where to start?  Come and learn about tangible next steps to learn more about adopting or fostering local kids right here in Gwinnett County, or even how you can participate in a global orphan care movement that is impacting millions of children worldwide!

The purpose of the evening Orphan Sunday event at Graystone Church is to invite believers in eastern Gwinnett County, specifically in the Grayson/Loganville/Monroe/Snellville areas to join together in worship, prayer, and celebration as we hear what God is doing in the lives of believers worldwide to care for the fatherless. Beyond simply promoting awareness of the plight of the orphan, we also want to give concrete actions, or next steps, for people to practically care for orphans, ultimately fulfilling the command of James 1:27 to “visit orphans in their distress.”

The specific calls to action will be available through a simple response card, given to everyone and taken up at the end. No financial collection will be taken this evening – we simply want to draw hearts to the cry of the orphan and encourage believers to respond as they are called.

The possible responses include:

  • Adoption - If You Were Mine Workshop
This is a one-day workshop (9am – 4pm), to be held at Graystone on a Saturday in early December, which through a biblical and practical video workshop, attendees will learn the processes, challenges, and joys of adoption.

  • Foster Care - Foster Care Orientation
Attendees may choose to attend the next DFACS Foster Care Orientation, a one hour evening, to be held at Graystone, which covers critical information regarding fostering right here in Gwinnett County, or they can attend a Bethany Christian Services orientation (more information available that evening).

  • Global Orphan Care - Whatever your talents
Videography, writing, web development, teaching, leadership development, graphic design, foreign language, etc – they may be used to support global orphan care efforts. Respond with a desire to help, and we will connect you with needs to use your time, talents, and/or treasure to change lives of orphans forever.

  • Local Prevention and Involvement - The Path Project
Volunteer your time and talents locally by mentoring at-risk children right here in Loganville.
