Loganville Woman Charged With Armed Robbery

Charges stem from an incident in October 2012 when then 17-year-old Monica Lynnette Allen is alleged to have been involved in an attempted armed robbery.

Monica Lynnette Allen, 18, of 2243 Shady Maple Lane, Loganville, was arrested on June 19, 2013 and charged with armed robbery. 

According to the Gwinnett County Police report, the charges stem from an incident that is alleged to have taken place on Oct. 2, 2012 near the Fall Creek Landing Subdivision in the Loganville area of Gwinnett County. A 17-year old was walking home in the subdivision when Allen summoned him to a vehicle. He told police that he knew Allen, so he went over to the car. It was at that time that a male jumped out of the vehicle and attempted to rob him at gunpoint. The victim said that he resisted, punching the subject, causing him to drop the gun. He said Allen then exited the vehicle and helped the other male recover the gun before both of them got back into the car and sped off.  

The victim was a student at South Gwinnett High School.

The correct name and address of the driver of the vehicle, as well as the man accused of brandishing the gun, were not included in the police report. Allen was arrested on Wednesday following an 8-month investigation. She remains in Gwinnett County Detention Center without bond.
