Grayson Issues Small Business Proclamation in Support of Local Vendors

Mayor Jim Hinkle signed a proclamation in support of local businesses during Small Business Saturday.

Grayson officials are asking that residents remember local businesses and hold off until Small Business Saturday to do their shopping again this year.

“Black Friday is really about the big box stores – we’re asking that you remember the small businesses in Grayson,” Mayor Jim Hinkle said.

This is the second year that the City of Grayson has issued a proclamation in support of the city's small businesses.

“Small business are the backbone of our economy and the glue that holds communities together,” the proclamation reads, going on to say it is appropriate that a day be designated for citizens to express their appreciation and show support to the businesses in the community.

In signing the proclamation, Grayson’s mayor and city council members encouraged Grayson residents to “Shop Small and Shop Local.”
