Eagle Scout Hopes to Add Fitness Course to Grayson City Park

The 5-station fitness course would include pull-up bars, a sit-up bench, stretching area, a push-up bar and a station for dips.

Ethan Porter hopes to use his Eagle Scout project to add to the facilities at the Grayson City Park. His proposed project is a 5-station fitness course in the park that will include pull-up bars, a sit-up bench, stretching area, a push-up bar and a station for dips. 

Porter presented his idea for Grayson council approval last night. The council approved the idea with the understanding that once he gets approval from the Boy Scout council to proceed, he will provide more detailed plans to the city for consideration. Porter is with troop 499..

In other business:

  • Eden's Heating and Cooling was awarded the contract for the city's HVAC Maintenance Contract.
  • Call for Election Ordinance was approved for 2013 election of Mayor, Post 2 and Post 4. Qualifying dates are August 26-28th and there is a $10 qualifying fee.
  • Budget Public Hearing Dates are Monday, August 12 at 6 p.m. for public comments and on Monday Aug. 19 during the regularly scheduled council meeting, the council will vote to adopt the amended 2012-13 budget and the 2013-14 budget.
