Daily Dose for Job Seekers: Tutoring Center Hiring

Applications for head instructor, instructors, assistant instructors and interns are currently being accepted.

The Tutoring Center in Sugar Hill is looking for applicants who are passionate and enthusiastic about working with children ages 5 to 16 to fill multiple part time positions, including a head instructor, instructors, assistant instructors and interns. Hours are part-time in the afternoon and 12 to 16 hours per week. 

Tutors are needed in reading, writing, elementary math, pre-algebra, algebra 1, algebra 2 and geometry. The head instructor will also be responsible for managing classrooms, marketing activities, etc., and be able to make at least a 1-year commitment.


All candidates must be "well-rounded" individuals capable of working with children who need help in various subjects. Applicants must be energetic, have a great and positive attitude, enjoy working with children in a fun atmosphere, have strong communication skills, must provide exceptional service and work as a team with other staff.

Additional requirements

  • Head instructors — Must have a college degree and be available to work from 2:30 to 7:30 p.m. Monday through Friday
  • Instructors — Must have a college degree, be strong in all subjects, including math, and be minimally available from 3:30 to 7:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday 
  • Assistant instructors — Currently enrolled in college, with a 3.0-plus GPA and be minimally available from 3:30 to 7:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday
  • Interns — High school students with 3.5-plus GPA, in top 5 percent of their class and be minimally available 3:30 to 7:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday
