Christmas Season Begins in Grayson

The Christmas Season began in earnest in Grayson on Nov. 29 with the lighting of the Christmas tree.

The City of Grayson ushered in the 2012 Holiday Season on Thursday with the annual Christmas Tree Lighting in the community park.

Santa and Mrs. Claus gave Grayson Mayor Jim Hinkle a hand, flipping the switch to light up the Christmas Tree. Residents were treated to music by the Grayson High School Chorus and the Trip Elementary Chorus. Children were able to have their photos taken with Santa and Mrs. Claus in the Grayson Senior Center and local beauty queens offered face painting for the little one.

Volunteers from Hail Mary Sports Pub were on hand to serve hot cocoa in support of the Grayson Children's Fund and to sell tickets for a playhouse raffle. The playhouse was on display, all decked out with its own Christmas decor.
