Christmas Lights in Walton County Move on to Next Round

The Christmas lights on Highway 81 in Walton County have moved into the next round of the Patch Deck the House Competition with 67 votes.

Thank you to the Brackens and Roberts family, both of Loganville, for their entries for the Patch Deck the House Christmas light contest. Both were really strong entries, but the Roberts Christmas Lights on Highway 81 in Walton County was the entry that made it through to the next round at midnight on Dec. 26 with 67 votes.

You can see all the 400 plus entrants from different Patch sites across the country that made it through to the next round here.

The next step is for the judges in New York to choose 24 finalists and announce those winners by Dec. 30. The 24 finalists will receive $500 towards their power bills for December and will again set off another round of voting. If the Roberts' entry is successful in making it to the 24 finalists (pray, cross your fingers, do whatever you can to send good mojo to their entry), another round of voting begins and that is where everybody's vote is really important. If that happens, and the Roberts' entry gets the most votes, Walton County Public Schools would earn $100,000.
