Black Friday 911 - Wouldn't You Know It, There's An App for That

"Black Flyday" app and Nerdwallet info, your 911 to Black Friday. Let the experts help make this Black Friday a successful shopping experience.

According to Nerdwallet.com a new study has found that this Black Friday, consumers should expect to pay the same or even a little more than last year. NerdWallet, reportedly an unbiased personal finance website, recently analyzed 22 Black Friday ad scans and found 20 of those ads listed at least one item at the same exact price as in the retailer's 2011 Black Friday ad. This means what consumers might think are great deals are in fact nothing special.

But don't despair. Just when you think you're going to be taken to the cleaners this Black Friday, Iconosys, Inc., a Californian Mobile app safety company has come up with something to save the day, the Black Flyday 3.0 mobile app.

According to a press release fro Iconosys, Inc., Black Flyday 3.0 tracks and notifies friends through your Smartphone or other Smart Device of killer "Door-Buster" and other Daily Deals normally meant for impulse shoppers on Black Friday, the biggest shopping day of the year. This latest version is a Facebook-integrated Smartphone app that is reported to "empower today's die-hard bargain hunter shoppers to take full advantage of the stream of tantalizing purchasing opportunities created by the booming Daily Deal industry. It reportedly does this in real time, as the deals are being announced. In addition, it allows you, through Facebook, to communicate with Facebook friends and fellow bargain shoppers and even provides a map and directions.

So don't miss out on the "Door Buster" daily deals this Black Friday. Go armed with your Black Flyday and, if you hurry, even the app won't cost you a penny. It is free until Black Friday 2012!

Black Flyday for Android OS Smartphones and tablets (Android is now 75% of the World Market for Smartphones (source: Fierce Wireless)) is free of charge through Black Friday of this year (Friday, Nov. 23), or it can be purchased for .99 cents thereafter for full lifetime license. The app can be downloaded from: www.iconosys.com, www.apphysteria.com, www.BlackFlyday.com, Get Jar, Amazon AppStore, and Handango.

"In this challenging economy, the idea of deal hunting (tied in with the theme of customer empowerment for finding the great values and bargains) has been reborn in the deal offerings from innovative leaders in the Daily Deal industry like Groupon, Monster Offers and others. Tiny victories are won every split second as another shopper lands the deal that gets them what they wanted for 50, 60, 70, 80, of even 90% off the normal retail price," said Wayne Irving II, creator of the Black Flyday™ 3.0 app and Iconosys CEO and co-Founder.

Black Flyday™ 3.0 Features Include:

  • Share "Door Busters" with Shopping Friends and Facebook Friends in Real-Time
  • Find Hot "Daily Deal" Loss Leaders near your GPS location on Black Friday and year-round
  • Create and Manage "Shopping Teams" and "Shopping Friends" share finite shopping trends, deals, and exciting bargains;
  • "GPS Deal Locating" allows for real-time map-able location notification, so your shopping team or Facebook friends can easily and quickly find the bargains that are posted for the entire group, and in this way give them the chance to take advantage of the great deals almost as fast as you did
  • Fully Facebook integrated - Facebook integration encourages users, if they wish, to share the deals they are "buzzing" about in real-time and with a potentially global reach;
  • Interactive Map of Hot Deals - Clicking on the map at the location of other "Black Fly'ers," you can see the deals that the other team members are talking about, and which are being presented for you to take advantage of;
  • and even Daily Deal providers local to you, showing their specials on Black Friday;
  • Traveling? The app allows the user to adjust the Black Flyday ™ 3.0 map to reveal the Daily Deals being buzzed about in a particular target area by simply adjusting your designated zip code and perimeter radius (e.g. deals within 5-25 miles of the zip code).

Other findings by Nerdwallet.com to help you be a smart shopper this Black Friday.

  • Some Black Friday deals will have consumers paying more this year
  • The median item price at Walmart, Target and Best Buy increased from 2011 to 2012, which means consumers should prepare to spend more on Black Friday at these three big-box retailers

David, it's still there we are just in the process of working out the bug on uploading photos toRead More articles that we authored (ugh!). I just didn't want to promote it and have people try and upload photos unsuccessfully. Depending on how long it takes to address this issue, I may keep June open through part of July - I hope not. If you have any photos you want to add, email them to me and I will upload them for you in the meantime.

Yea, sorry David. We are still dealing with some "issues." It rejected Jason's blog, andRead More none of us, not even our top regional editor, is being given authority to release it. Poor Jason, I know he so hates being rejected! And we hate it happening to him. The people not being "bugged" by technical issues, however, are reporting that it is super easy to use.

I wonder. Will Patch restore the reply button and add a responded to your comment notification?
Sharon Swanepoel (Editor) June 19, 2013 at 09:21 am
Please keep these comments coming. We are forwarding all these issues to our production team. TheRead More ones that are most pressing are more likely to be addressed first. Once we have the initial roll out completed and working well, the tweaking will begin.

I'm just reporting the news, Skal. I don't know the reasons although I could speculate. Just keepRead More your head down and don't answer the door.

I remember my Great Grandmother putting just enough coffee in a cup of milk to color the milk and weRead More would sit and have our "morning coffee" together before we went to the farmer's market on Saturdays or before we went to church on Sundays. Those were some of my most cherished times in my life.

DR, seems like an oxymoron doesn't it? I'd like to hear from someone who is actually from there toRead More find out their spin on why they even enter a contestant in the first place. It's my understanding that a woman that shows that much skin in public will be flogged or worse? Maybe democracy is taking ahold in some places, who knows?
Good Grief Y'all June 17, 2013 at 03:24 pm
I was wrong. Guys are interested pageants. You would no doubt be happy if the contestants justRead More wore the face shawl with their bikinis.
Karsten Torch June 17, 2013 at 04:30 pm
Couple of thoughts - One, why hold it in a land where there is going to be this kind of protest?Read More Just move it and don't worry about it. Other, I find it interesting how the Muslims want us to be understanding and inclusive of their beliefs, but don't even think they'll allow anything they don't agree with. Just a tad bit hypocritical...
