TJ Maxx Expected to Open May 9 - Hiring Temporary Associates

Loganville city officials say tentative plans for TJ Maxx to open is early in May, likely May 9.

Loganville residents have been early awaiting the opening of the TJ Maxx store in North Logan Commons and it looks like they only have a month left to wait. The blue of the old Best Buy is now completely gone and the TJ Maxx colors are on display. The signage is not yet up, but crews were on hand this week finishing up the interior.

A sign on the door says TJ Maxx is hiring temporary associates, but anyone interested will need to apply in person at the Stone Mountain store.Loganville officials gave a Spring 2013 planned opening date and confirmed Monday that if things stay on track, May 9 is the date that the store plans to open.

Residents learned in April 2012 that the  previously in that location was one of the 50 stores closing across the United States. It was one of two that closed in Georgia. By the end of May the store was empty and the doors closed for good.

Although Lowe's, PetSmart, OfficeMax and Dicks Sporting Goods are still anchor stores in the center, Best Buy was one of the key anchors. A clothing store, such as TJ Maxx, was one of the suggestions from residents looking for a replacement for the Best Buy.
