Time Well Spent Coffee and Friends Closes

The last official day was Tuesday. The shop will be open limited hours until Saturday to sell off some of the equipment.

It was a dream that didn’t quite make it through the night for John and Paula Judge, owners of in Loganville. After less than a year, the doors of Time Well Spent will close for good on Saturday.

“Tuesday was our last official day, but we will be open the rest of the week, until Saturday, for coffee bar and desserts,” Paula Judge said. “We will also be selling off some of the equipment and stuff.”

couple for many years before they eventually opened up in The coffee shop included some innovative extras such as a café, a new and used bookstore and a game room. Paula Judge said she’s not sure how much of it was the current economy, but it just didn’t get off the ground.

“But we’re at peace with it,” she said. “We didn’t take out a loan and we’re still walking away without any debt.”

Judge said they will continue with the books and tutoring. The tuturing was always part of the plan, but they were always too busy to implement it. John Judge specializes in math, history and science tutoring from middle school to college level and it is their plan to return to that in the meantime. They don’t rule out some form of coffee shop in the future, possibly when the economy improves.

In the meantime, Judge said they “had a blast” and enjoyed every minute of their time in Loganville. The following statement appeared on the Time Well Spent Facebook page.

We want to thank all of our customers for your support and love of our shop! We are closing this location and will be open regular hours Monday 3/19 and Tuesday 3/20. On Wednesday - Saturday of this week our hours will be 10 AM - 5 PM. After Tuesday of this week will only have the coffee bar and desserts available. 
If you have trade points on the books, you may use them for up to 75% (normally 50%) off the cost of used books in order to help you redeem them. 
We are planning to transition into tutoring and to maintain the bookstore online. More details on that to come very soon!
