Ok, so maybe I'm no food critic, but I know GOOD when I see it, and taste it ! The Munchbox Grill location is not the biggest, but has room for a large party or football team after practice. The decor, sparse at best. But hey, it's all about the FOOD. And the service.
Let's start off with the owner/chef. Tony Alonzo is no ordinary diner cook. He's a professionally trained chef. A graduate of a large culinary college, he's worked as a chef at some of Atlanta's largest & finest hotels. He also has an intern program for student chefs at culinary colleges from all over. He's passionate about his food, and about the quality of service he provides.
But what about the FOOD ? After all we go to a restaurant to eat. Munchbox Grill specializes in hand crafted gourmet burgers & hoagies. All burgers are fresh, never frozen, Angus chuck. Hand crafted made from scratch toppings top these juicy patties of joy. The hoagies are just as special. Fresh made from scratch ingredients such as slow roasted chicken, buffalo chicken, BLT's, & his Signature pulled pork (slow roasted for 10 hours & seasoned to perfection) or Italian Hot Beef. All come with a choice of either fresh homemade (flavor of the day) potato chips or fries.
Don't think it stops there. He's just getting started. Salads, fresh fish & shrimp dishes & made from scratch Italian meals. Nothing pre-battered or pre-cooked here. Everything is made to order. Tony even makes his own pasta from scratch daily. Oh and the Alfredo sauce ? Fresh whole cream & house aged cheeses will make you squirm in your seat (well it did me anyway) with delight.
