Loganville Johnny's to Feature Live Music on Saturdays, Beginning Tonight

Featured musicians The Dixie Crashers, with Chris Sirmans and Patrick Wilson, kick off Johnny's Live Music Saturday nights, beginning at 7:30 p.m. tonight.

Johnny’s Pizza in Loganville opened just over two weeks ago and tonight they bring a new dimension.

“Live music starts tonight on the patio,” said co owner Suzanne McLean. “The Dixie Crashers – Chris Sirmans and Patrick Wilson – music starts at 7:30 p.m.”

McLean and her husband, Michael, opened Johnny’s in Loganville on Jan. 9, 2013. The McLeans they have been with Johnny’s Pizza since 2006, but not in their own community up until now.

“We had the one in Conyers and in Covington and we sold the one in Covington when this one became available in Loganville,” McLean said. “This is our own community – we live in Loganville, our children are in school in Loganville – we are so embedded in this community.”

The McLeans still own Johnny's Pizza in  as well. McLean said their children go to Loganville Middle and Loganville High schools.

As well as the live music which started this weekend, McLean said they will begin Trivia on a Wednesday night, starting at 7 p.m. on Feb. 6. In addition, Johnny's will have "Teacher Tuesdays" starting next Tuesday through the end of the 2012-2013 school year. On Teacher Tuesdays, teachers will save 10 percent on their meal.

And next week, they are planning a Super Bowl party.

“We have a huge TV screen and the game will be on,” McLean said, adding there will be beer and drink specials as well as the traditional pizza and wings. “We will also have pizza and wings for takeout for those people who are planning their own Super Bowl party at home.”

McClean said although there is a reported wings shortage at the moment, there won’t be one at Johnny’s in Loganville.

“There’s always a shortage at this time of the year, but we’ll be OK,” she said.

The restaurant, which services Italian cuisine - pizza and sandwiches, is located in the Loganville Promenade, across Highway 78 from Home Depot.
