Colonial Buick GMC Opens Doors in Loganville

Loganville-Grayson Patch took a tour of the new Colonial Buick GMC this week to see what all the fuss was about with the dealership. 

Colonial Buick officially moved over to its new 3965 Atlanta Hwy 78 location in Loganville on Monday, Aug. 12, after being in its Lawrenceville location since 1992. 

Trey Hollis, who co-owns the business with his dad, Tony, explained that the Highway 316 expansion was the main reason for the move.

"They put an overpass right where our dealership was," he said. They settled with the Georgia Department of Transportation on damages to the property, but the traffic and accessibility to get to the property was too much for the dealership. 

So they decided on Loganville because of its new growth and the accessibility. Construction started in February this year, and while building the facility is completed, there are still some interior details such as wall signage that need to be finished. Hollis said they anticipate a grand opening celebration some time later this year.

Despite it being slightly smaller than its previous location, the Loganville dealership is an upgrade since the old location was built in the 1980s. It's more user-centered since the departments are closer to one another, and the service department is much larger. The old facility had a body shop, and Hollis said they're considering adding one to the new location in the future. 

Additionally, business in general has been good for Colonial Buick at its new home. "It's too soon to tell, but we're already seeing more traffic than we saw at the last location," he said. "It's been good so far."
