AMC Theatres released the following statement via Facebook following the :

"AMC Theatres is deeply saddened by the Aurora tragedy. Movie going is part of our social fabric and this senseless act shakes us to our core. We’re reinforcing our security procedures with our theatre teams, which we cannot discuss in detail for obvious, safety reasons. Local law enforcement agencies, our landlords and their and our local security teams are stepping up nationwide to ensure we provide the safest environment possible for our guests. We couldn’t be more grateful for their collective support.

At this time, our show schedules circuit-wide will not change. We will not allow any guests into our theatres in costumes that make other guests feel uncomfortable and we will not permit face-covering masks or fake weapons inside our buildings. If guests wish to exchange or refund any tickets, we will honor our existing policy and do as our guests wish. We are taking necessary precautions to ensure our guests who wish to enjoy a movie this weekend can do so with as much peace of mind as possible in these circumstances."

There are two AMC Theatre locations in Lawrenceville - one at and the other on . There is also one in Lithonia.

If alot of these places would allow CCW it would detour alot of crime and lives could be saved in the event of chaos because the police can't do it all. It's simply part of each one our duties to help keep our communities safe. I'm not saying everyone run around and do police work but be willing to do their part as responsible citizens. It's a proven fact that areas where there are "no weapons, violators will be prosecuted" signs the crime is rampant. North Carolina colleges for instance girls constantly being raped, students being robbed at gunpoint etc. Here at Ga. Tech the same exact thing. Why is it such a crime for someone to exercise their right to defense ? Why should we be made to stand there and let the criminal have free will to decide when we live or die? If there's a no firearms allowed sign, sorry they don't get my business because you just never know if you are in the wrong place at the wrong time.

I can't understand why so many people seem to be afraid to protect their selves in a society that is crumbling. Law enforcement is only going to be there after the fact, very seldom will they be there to stop it. More gun control is not going to work, just look at our nations capitol, it has the most strict gun controls in the country and it's one of the most dangerous cities in the country.People need to saddle up and arm themselves before thugs completely take over.Do you really think the police give a crap about you, my liberal friends?
