Loganville Women's Club Donate Pillows to Cancer Patients at Clearview Regional

The members of Loganville Women's Club made the pillows for breast cancer patients who have undergone surgery.

As a service organization, members of the Loganville Women's Club have their hands on many civic events in the local area. Whether it's serving hot cocoa and cookies at the annual Loganville Christmas Tree lighting, raising funds to provide scholarships for local students or arranging a Christmas Tour of Homes, the organization is always working on service projects to better the community. Their latest venture was making and donating pillows for breast cancer patients at Clearview Regional Medical Center in Monroe. Members of the club handed the pillows over to hospital staff on May 28.

Pat Pippen, president of the Loganville Women’s Club and herself a breast cancer survivor, said she would have loved to have had one of the pillows herself in 2004 when she had the surgery.

“It would have been so nice because there was some pain and it helps to keep your arm away,” Pippen said.

According to members of the club, it only takes about 15 minutes to make a pillow and it makes a great gift for a patient recovering from breast cancer surgery.
