Get Ready for Miss Grayson 2014

Get ready, girls: Miss Grayson 2014 is just around the corner. 

Held at Grayson High School, Miss Grayson 2014 is scheduled for Saturday, March 8, 2014. The annual pageant is open to girls of all ages who attend a Grayson Cluster school and has a parent who is a PTSA member. 

Here's a breakdown of the competition:

Age divisions will be based on number of participants for pre-kindergarten to eighth grade. Crowns will be awarded for each high school year. There also will be Miss Sweetheart representatives awarded for each age division.  

Other awards include the People's Choice award, Interview Winner, Miss Congenitally, Miss Photogenic and a Talent Winner. Talent competition is optional and not required and is only open to the high school-age divisions.

And here are the important dates:

Informational meetings for parents:
Thursday, Dec. 12, 6 p.m., at the GHS media center 
Tuesday, Jan. 14, 2014, 6 p.m., at the GHS media center

Applications deadline: 
Friday, Jan. 31, 2014, to applicant's school's front office

Practices are mandatory and they will be in the GHS theater on: 
Thursday, Feb. 27, 6 p.m.
Wednesday, March 5, 6 p.m.
Friday, March 7, 6 p.m.

Pageant tickets are $10 each. Contestants receive two reduced-price tickets.
