Loganville-Grayson Patch Readers Share How Long Their Drives Were in the Snow

For many, a 20-minute ride home in metro Atlanta took hours because of the snow storm.

For many, a 20-minute ride home in metro Atlanta took hours on Tuesday (Jan. 28) because of the snow storm.

Locals have spoken on social media to explain their horrors of back-to-back traffic and how a mile of travel would take two hours. The traffic got so bad that many even abandoned their vehicles and walked miles in the snow.

Loganville Patch asked on Facebook for readers' experiences of their treks home. Here are some of the responses:

"My husband left Marietta at 1:00...he's not home yet," said one reader right before 10 p.m.

"It took my husband 7 hrs from Roswell to Suwanee then to Loganville. He said he had a lot of close calls, but he made it. People were bad about stopping while trying to make it up hills or were to afraid to go down them."

"It took my brother over 6 hrs from Cartersville to Cumming. It normally takes him 45 mins"
