Graystone Church Expands into Walton County

A new congregation of Graystone Church will begin meeting at Loganville High School on March 3.

Graystone Church announced that it will be opening their very first expansion campus in Walton County at 10 a.m. on March 3, 2013 at Loganville High School.

Graystone Church first began meeting in October 2004 in a renovated warehouse space located near downtown Grayson. Jonathan Howes is the lead pastor. He will be the lead pastor over both campuses but Elliott Rogers will be the on site pastor of the Walton campus.

"We have several Graystone families and members who live in Walton County and are driving to our Ozora Campus. We wanted to provide a location closer to their home and in the community where they live," Howes said. "Also, we want to share the love of Jesus Christ with as many people as possible, and Walton is the next closest community to our church.  It seemed fitting that Walton would be the first community for Graystone to start an expansion campus."

Howes said they are not sure how long LHS will serve as the Graystone Walton campus.

"It is an incredible facility, and the LHS faculty and staff have rolled out the red carpet for us. The long term goal is to renovate an existing building or build a new campus on or close to Highway 78.  Right now, we're taking it one step at a time and trusting God that He will provide a more permanent location," Howes said. "We're launching the Graystone Walton campus with a brand new message series called Family Wars. The idea is that God does not want us to fight in our families, but He wants us to fight for our families. The message will apply to everyone and will be very practical. It will encourage us to do whatever it takes to fight for the people who are most important to us."
