Chick-fil-A Loganville to Host Ford Family Fundraiser

10% of Sales to Assist Family with Mounting Medical Expenses

On Thursday, Jan. 17, from 4:00pm to 8:00pm the Chick-fil-A in Loganville will host a fundraiser for Jennifer Ford. She is a Loganville High School graduate, wife to high school sweetheart Darren and mother to two children.  She was in a serious car accident on Nov. 10 and is currently recovering at The Shepherd’s Center in Atlanta.  The community is invited to dine at the restaurant on Jan. 17 and help the Ford family with their mounting medical expenses.  Bring your friends and family between 4:00pm and 8:00pm to enjoy a delicious Chick-fil-A meal and 10 percent of your sale will be donated to the Ford family.

According to her husband in an update on Facebook on Jan. 4, Ford's recovery is progressing well. His entry read:

Jennifer has had a wonderful week. On Wednesday, she had her trache removed and got a new bed that doesn't require any restraints. She was able to practice walking Wednesday and Thursday with and without machined assistance.

Jennifer got to eat mashed potatoes with gravy for lunch with sweet tea yesterday and today she had pureed Lima beans, roast beef, and tomato soup.

I got cleared on Wednesday to start standing and pivoting in and out of the bed and chairs. Her Mom stayed with her today and they got to leave the floor and visit other floors. The Shepherd Center has a garden, but they didn't get a chance to visit it today - but could have.

Her status as a patient changed from "medical" to "rehabilitation" today. The rehab just means she doesn't require the nursing care as often as she was receiving it prior.
