Around the Region: Peeping Tom on Film, Girls in Kilts and Carjacker at Large

A look at top Patch stories from around Georgia.

Cartersville Patch

investigators say an Acworth woman was "shocked" to find evidence of a peeping tom on video footage captured by her home surveillance system.

The 50-year-old Lake Shore Circle woman on May 10 reported a previous trespassing incident. She was reviewing the video in connection to that case when she spotted the suspected peeping tom (see photo).

Suwanee Patch

The controversy started as soon as Tilted Kilt opened its Suwanee location in mid-March.

"Are Suwanee residents happy to have a Tilted Kilt (a Hooters wannabe) restaurant coming in the midst of our family-friendly area?” one resident posted on Facebook.

The restaurant chain's distinctive feature is its female servers, who are dressed in Scottish-themed outfits that emphasize cleavage. Also, the garb exposes midriffs.

Some critics describe the garb as offensive and demeaning to women. Others say the controversy is overblown.

The chain also operates restaurants in Johns Creek and near the Mall of Georgia.

East Atlanta Patch

Atlanta police have made one arrest in the May 11  of Reynoldstown woman in the Milltown Lofts.

The victim, who was attacked in the 800 block of Wylie Street, identified the suspect, police said Thursday.

In a cruel twist, however, another group of teens stole her car Thursday afternoon. It's unclear if the two groups are connected.

The other carjacker, who is seen in video surveillance footage from the Milltown Lofts cameras, remains at large.
