What You Need to Know About the Weekend

Check out what's going on in the first few days of November.

It's a new month and a new weekend. Here's what you need to know for Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

1. Time to fall back: Daylight Saving Time ends this Sunday (Nov. 3) at 2 a.m. Here are a few things you can do with that extra hour.

2. Weekend events: There are a lot of events going on post-Halloween in Loganville and Grayson. Fall festivals, a 5K and much more. Click here for the full details.

3. The weather is a mixed bag: According to the National Weather Service, Friday has a good chance of rain during the day with a 30 percent chance at night. It's supposed to be sunny the rest of the weekend, though. Strangely, the temperature is predicted to decrease as the weekend progresses, too: The high Friday is 71 degrees with a low of 48, Saturday has a high of 68 degrees and a low of 42, an Sunday's high is 62 with a low of 40.

4. All Saints' Day, then All Souls' Day: Many churches in the U.S. celebrate All Saints' Day on Nov. 1 and then All Souls' Day on Nov. 2. According to timeanddate.com, the first holiday, also known as All Hallows' Day, honors all the (you guessed it) saints and martyrs, and the next day is dedicated to prayers for the dead. Both days are usually spent visiting cemeteries and graves. Dia de los Muetros also is celebrated Nov. 1.

5. You can post on Patch: Have something going on over the weekend? Share your photos and announcements to Patch's Boards section. Have an event in the upcoming weeks or event next month? Post it to our Events section. Let Patch help you get the word out!
