More About City of Loganville

City of Loganville

City of Loganville

4385 Pecan St, Loganville, GA
770-466-1165

From its early beginnings in 1842 when it was a 62.5-acre site purchased for $150 by James Harvie Logan, to its current size with a population of 10,458 according to the 2010 U.S. Census, Loganville is a city that is constantly growing. In the early days, the city stretched half a mile in each direction from a wishing well that still marks the city center. The city now covers more than six square miles. It was incorporated in 1887 when it took its name from its first official resident.

With a council/manager form of government, the city has embraced its growth. It now features a combination of old-town history in the downtown area combined with big-box store fronts, and chain restaurants along Highway 78, which runs through the city linking it to Snellville in Gwinnett County and Monroe in Walton County. The city itself is located partly in Walton County with almost a third in Gwinnett County.

Students in the city attend schools in either the Walton County Public School system or The Gwinnett County Public School system, depending on where in the city the home is located. Loganville also is served by its own police, fire and planning departments as well as a public works and water quality department. Officials pride themselves on governing according to the city's motto: "Loganville—where people matter."
