City officials held the official groundbreaking ceremony this afternoon.
Construction of Beverage SuperStore of Grayson has officially begun, as city officials and community members came together this afternoon to celebrate the groundbreaking ceremony on Loganville Highway. The store will be managed by Richard Tucker, the successful applicant for the one license in Grayson. His wife, Peggy, owns Grayson Reserves, LLC. The plan was once to name the store Grayson Cellars. There may still be a Grayson Cellars in the form of a wine tasting room or a fine wine room, said Tucker, but they decided to name it Beverage SuperStore after the highly successful store in Suwanee by the same name. Kirkland Signature Foods is one of nine different brands recalled by the manufacturer.
Diamond Pet Foods has expanded a voluntary recall to include batches of nine brands of dry pet food formulas manufactured between Dec. 9, 2011 and April 7, 2012 due to potential Salmonella contamination. A local reader asked about the recall, so Patch is providing this information from the U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA). In April 2012, Diamond Pet Foods initiated three voluntary recalls of Diamond manufactured dry dog food. According to a news release from Lake Lanier Islands Resort, LanierWorld will have some new touches this year. As Loganville begins the process of bringing a package store to the city, Grayson is a whole year ahead in the process and expects to have Beverage SuperStore of Grayson open in the fall. Richard Tucker, the successful aplicant for the one license issued in Grayson, said land has been cleared and construction will soon begin. “The first phase of demolition and land clearing was a great success,” Tucker said in a press release. “We are on track to begin construction and are expected to have the store open mid October 2012. To kick off National Motorcycle Safety Awareness Month, Allstate Insurance permanently installed a motorcycle warning sign in Snellville at the intersection of Athens Highway and Grayson Parkway. The sign cautions motorists to look twice for riders at intersections, which is where most multi-vehicle collisions occur for riders. In an effort to help standardize warning signs for motorcycle safety and help reduce the number of motorcycle crashes Allstate plans to permanently install motorcycle warning signs in more than 30 U.S. cities this year.
